Will X Factor lose Britney Spears?

Depending on who you ask....Britney may be leaving Fox's hit show X Factor or she may be fired.

It's become clear in the last month the "Toxic" singer has been playing around with music and performing again. Working with Will i am on "Scream and Shout" which leaked and became a huge hit and the new revamp of her fragrance commercials 2013 looks to be the clash of Pop royalty. If she indeed is looking to put an album out next year she can't possibly keep up with the steady pace of X Factor.

While answering fan questions on Twitter today (Dec. 30), the pop superstar revealed she's " working hard" on her next album and "really focused on my music right now" and that she is "collaborating with some new inspiring producers."

As for who she's working with… let the speculation begin.

In recent months Spears has collaborated with will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas (on his single "Scream & Shout") and she has reportedly enlisted the songwriting charms of Elijah Blake (Usher's "Climax"), who told ThatGrapeJuice.net this month that Spears is "playing with new textures and stomping on new grounds and genres" with her new music.

Spears has been in the news quite a bit in recent days following a report from Us Weekly that indicated the singer would not be returning to "The X Factor" for a second season. Although Spears has said that she would like to return to the Fox reality competition in 2013 a source tells the magazine that fellow judge and show mastermind Simon Cowell is actively trying to push the singer out.

Kim K & Kanye

The story people are getting sick of already...

Superstar rapper and the around the way girl Kim Kardashian have come together for a life changing project...MAKING BABIES.

The news has been traveling all over the media and social networking. First off congrats to the couple because being a parent is one of the most important jobs ever. I think they make a wonderful couple I just didn't think this was going to happen lol.

Kanye is a little off at times and Kim seems to be more into the next black thing to get preggo. I thought this is something cute for both of them to have for a little while and then they would go there separate ways...but shockingly they seem to work. We all know Kim's past and no matter how she became a superstar she is one now.

This baby is going to be apart of a music dynasty. Just picture it...Kanye and Kim walking down the beach with baby Kimye and they see baby Blue Ivy with best bud Jay Z and wife Beyonce.  This story is going to be the talk of the industry for a long while so strap up and get ready. The crazy train has just left the tracks.

Fantasia said what???

Fantasia unfortunately is more known for her crazy personal life then her remarkable talent these days. When I hear stories like this I almost want to weep for the celebrity it's about. There have been many times when interviews are done and once published the star screams how there was a miscommunication, that there comments were taken out of context...this my people leaves no room for misinterpretation.

"I Rise ABOVE IT ALL!!! THE WORLD IS GONE MAD. KIDS, THE GOVERNMENT, THE church House… Everybody Trying!!!!!!! Its a lot that going on that the Bible speaks about we should Not be doing. Weed legal in some places, Gay Marriage Legal BUT YET IM JUDGED!! Im not doing Nothing for you… My Life!!!!"

This was not a television interview, not a radio interview, not even a quote in a tabloid magazine. This came directly from Fantasia on instagram. She wrote this herself so who took her words out of context. She now has put a statement out trying to clear up her comments. Take a look at it here

"It has been brought to my attention that something I said was taken out of context, I Fantasia Monique Barrino don't judge anyone because I don't want to be judged. The gay community is one of my largest supporters. I support the gay community as well as they support me. Bloggers please stop misrepresenting the facts."

I personally don't feel this was a statement gone wrong. I think she was angry about people still judging her for the affair she had and during an exchange this came out. Granted I don't feel she hates the gay community because like she said the LGBT community are one of her biggest supporters, but I think she meant every word that was said and because of that she may lose some of that support. That's a shame since she's getting ready to put out another album.

Ne-Yo's Baby Mamma Drama

Back in September 2012 we all watched Ne-Yo's VH1 behind the music in which he spoke about the ups and down of his early career. In that hour special he spoke about having a baby with a woman name Jessica White who he later found out was using him to take care of the baby and then vanished. Since that time Ms. White has hired a lawyer saying not how the story wasn't true or that things were fabricated but that this information was never to see the light of day.

Apparently in 2009 they both signed a gag order where Ne-Yo paid almost 600,000 to her to have his name removed from the birth certificate and to never speak of this situation to the public. Her lawyer says Ne-Yo painted her as a liar who vanished from sight. I feel that she has a lot of nerve wanting to sue him over this when she clearly was everything he said she was. On the flip side did Ne-Yo forget he filled out such forms or was he using this as revenge. Either way it looks like he will probably pay her another lump sum out of court to get this rectified.

The Year Ahead

As 2012 is coming to an end it's time to look forward to new music coming in 2013.

Keri Hilson

The "Pretty Girls Rock" singer took a short break from music to clear her head and just be normal. In the process she is completing a movie with film star Vin Diesel and excited to drop new music and a new album in the first quarter of 2013. A quarter which is already going to be saturated with divas.

Tamar Braxton

With "Love & War" jumping out of the gates being successful the world is finally ready to get a full dose of Tamar. "She" has already set her release date of February 12, 2013 and TrueFAN has a feeling she will do very well.

Ciara

After shelving her previous release date Ciara has decided that her "One woman army" will be best suited for early 2013. Her couple of singles she has put out have been cute but much more will be needed to compete with the divas coming out in the first quarter.

Mariah Carey
The Icon has been doing a lot lately. Taking care of her beautiful children, taping American Idol, and also working on new music for a new album due sometime in 2013. As if she needs to prove anything at this point in her career but with young and upcoming artists pushing out #1 hits she may need to notch a few more of her own to keep her record out of reach.

Azealia Banks
The beautiful rapper is a breathe of fresh air in this pop filled Nicki Minaj era. With an album release date of Feburary 12, 2012 she is the first female MC of the year to drop an album and has the chance to gain popularity.

50 cent

Honestly nobody is checking for 50 at this point. He has given his music career the boot to be a business man a long time ago. Even though his albums have got worse and worse each time around his name is what may sell an album or two.

Beyonce

Let the promotion begin. Even though "4" gave her some of the best critical accliam in her career it didn't live up to the smash of I AM Sasha Fierce. This time around to keep up with the new divas she will have to bring the heat (go buy perfume lol). With news this month of Pepsi endorsing her and funding upcoming projects and tours the year of Beyonce is about to start. Album due out in the first quarter of the year, Superbowl halftime show performer and HBO documentary in works. I'm worried for any other female dropping albums in the first quarter.

Other artists that will be bringing new albums to the mix. Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Jessie J, Eminem, Big Sean

It's Tamar time

Lil Sis is taking the spotlight

Anyone who has followed "Braxton Family Values" are well familar with the shanangins that Tamar Braxton brings to the stage. You've heard her imitate Toni and do it very well, but with the show doing great and her own show along side husband Vince (Tamar & Vince) she is ready to showcase her own talent.

In my opinion Tamar has the best voice in the family, she has the lower register that Toni brings to the stage but she has the high register that is very impressive.

The first single from her upcoming album is "Love & War". The song that very much touches on her relationship with her husband. The song is great and the vocals she delivers has caught a lot of people by surprise. The song which hit I Tunes days before the season finale of her show topped the number 1 spot within 24 hours. The song without any airplay hit the Billboard charts in the top 100 and is expected to do much better once the song hits radio.

While on the show Tamar compared herself to Beyonce and ironically she is going to have the chance to compete with Queen B. Due out February 12, 2013 Tamar will drop her anticipated album but it will also come in the same month Beyonce will be on full promo for her upcoming album which many people believe will be released in February as well. I do believe it's her time to shine and I hope she does well.

New Music---Chrisette Michele

She is doing "Better"

A new album is coming very soon and she is not wasting anytime releasing material to get the buzz going. Check out one of her new songs below called "Better"

End of Gun Violence

No matter what your views are on gun control or just guns in general. What happened at Sandy Brook Elementary school was a tragedy and personally I feel some changes need to be made. There is no reason everyday people should be able to go and buy assault weapons as if they are going to war. I'm not the only one who feels this way, some well known celebrity's are firing back and asking for change as well.

New music---Eve

EVE

I'm always hyped when I hear a female outside of Nicki Minaj spitting on a song Eve decided to add some fire to Big Sean's new hit "Guap".  Check it out below.

Wale---Folarin

New Mixtape

Wale gave the fans a nice Christmas present...his highly anticipated mixtape "Folarin".  Wale isn't new to the mixtape game after having several before but he's the only artist that loves to give back to his fans by giving them album ready music for free. He didn't disappoint with this mixtape. His mixtape is hyped with 21 tracks featuring his Maybach music family. This is one album that you will keep playing and the best part...IT'S FREE. So when you click the link below don't feel guilty...he wants you to download it lol.

New Music from Brandy

One of my favorite unreleased tracks by Brandy is finally getting some shine.  I wish "How High" made it onto Two Eleven but she did this for her fans and I appreciate that. Take a listen below

Last Shot for Kelly

Last Shot for Miss Kelly

What can you say about Kelly Rowland? She is someone that you want to root for but she always falls a little short of expectation. We all know that being 1/3 of "Beyonce & them" was her claim to fame but there is so much promise within her that it almost makes you mad. Rap-up.com is reporting...

Kelly Rowland won’t be played for a fool. The Destiny’s Child diva kicks her man to the curb on “Number One,” her collaboration with Mike WiLL Made-It, one of the exclusive cuts off the “Bandz” producer’s new mixtape Est. in 1989 Pt. 2.5.
Kelly, whose new album Year of the Woman is due in 2013, coos about being her man’s one and only.
“If I’m not the one, then I guess you can call number two/ I guess I won’t be lovin’ you,” sings Kelly.

I hope she delivers on this new album becuase most artists don't get as many chances as she's had. "Simply Deep", "Miss Kelly", "Here I Am". All of these albums were good in there own right but for whatever reason she was not able to capitalize on some of the strong matieral on each album. Either she took to long to make a video or she had great appeal with her first single but didn't follow up with an equally hot second single. She's forever going to be in Beyonce's shadow but it's that promise that we have seen from the beginning that keeps us rooting for her. I don't think she can afford to have another lackluster album campaign. Click below to take a listen to her new song

Oh you mad---Beyonce & Pepsi

Beyonce & Pepsi

So you've heard the news by now. Beyonce & Pepsi are going to uh oh uh oh all over your television, radio, and billboards for the next year. She signed a lucrative 50 million dollar deal with Pepsi and the world is horrified. You have some people who are using her Let's Move Campaign to criticize her for this deal saying "how can she market for them when sodas are the big cause of obesity".

STOP IT

They are saying "She should show more of a responsibility to teach children better ways of healthy living"

STOP IT

My personal favorite "She is selling out because she's not as successful as she used to be"

GET A CLUE

Beyonce made over 40 million in 2012 without really trying. She is a business woman and this helps further her brand. Pepsi is going to pay her to be the face of there company. They are also going to help fund her next album, tour and if she wanted...pay for Blue Ivy's college education. As a big guy I know for sure sodas were not the reason why I became fat as a child. I became fat because food is so damn good and I never went out and exercised. Drinking sodas will not make you fat...it will contribute to the problem if you are not living a healthy lifestyle which her Let's move campaign supports. It's not up to Beyonce to make your child lose weight, it's up to the parents to get there child outside and off the Xbox. It's up to the parents to make time to cook a healthy meal and not depend on the Micky D's dollar menu to feed them. People are always going to find a reason to not like you and this is just there current reason why not to like Beyonce.

They also mad because Beyonce didn't get to promo and tour and be all in your face with her last album. This time around we are going to get a healthy dose of the Queen bee courtesy of Pepsi. So be mad at her for being a great business woman. Be mad at her for being sickening in every fashion. You can even be mad that with her coming back to dominate the market your favorite artist has already flopped without a release date. She's about to snatch wigs and change diapers....YOU WILL DEAL.

Why do we even care?

Let them Be

It's been 3 years since that public moment that will always haunt them. One used that situation to gain popularity and become the reigning queen of billboard. The other lost everything and became the villain to the world. Court cases, restraining orders, and the worst press anyone could take. Even after all that these two are still drawn to each other. The both put that friend title out there but we all see the love that has never left. It gets to a point where you will either let the public rip you apart or you shrug them off and do what makes you happy.

It's clear these two want to be together and defy the odds but the public (us) doesn't want them together. Yes he beat her, and forever mentally changed her. Chris Brown did his time, paid the cost, did the community service. As crazy as he's been I don't believe he's crazy enough to lose everything all over again. We hold Rihanna to a higher standard because she's a superstar and she's beautiful...she can have any man that she wanted, why Chris Brown?

If they were an ordinary couple living in New Jersey we wouldn't care about what they are doing in there private life, because they are stars who live there life in the public eye we can't help but know what's going on. I have a problem with people that want to know so much about a celebrity's private life that it overshadows the reason they are famous. Your job is to entertain me and if I love your music, movies etc. then that's all that should matter. I think the world spends to much time judging celebrity's on things they do behind closed doors and this really needs to stop. She is clearly happy being with him and vice versa. If she can accept that he's changed then why can't that be enough for the world. Everyone is entitled to a second chance...and a second chance at love.

Female MC's Stand up

With all the backlash, Nicki Minaj has been faced with this last year she deserves a round of applause for still being out there. Minaj has transitioned from mix tape diva to crossover sex symbol before our eyes. She has been dogged as a sale out and turning her back on “real hip hop” but the real problem is she is a female pop rapper who is only doing what the times needs her to do. Can’t knock her hustle but very soon hip-hop fans will be able to relish in a world of female comebacks. With no music coming out from Lil’ Kim, Rah Digga and new albums coming soon from Missy, Eve and Trina. 2013 might be the year of the female MC.

Album Review--Rihanna Unapologetic

Unapologetic is Rihanna’s seventh studio album and honestly to me the most disappointing.
I am not counting her first two albums I’m speaking from her career changing “Good Girl Gone Bad” album. Since that time all of her albums have had pop, rock, and a slight island feel. Each album has grown in popularity to the point where she is now one of those artists who can sell albums off name recognition.
Her new album is off to a good start already number 1 on ITunes and will surely give her the stat she has been lacking…a number 1 album. Diamonds for me was a great choice as a headlining single because it was so much different from what were used to hearing from her. This song was much more laid back, mellow, and displayed a Rihanna who has been working on her vocals. Listening to this album just reminded me of how sick I am of hearing the house music theme in pop music. Overall, the album is a DJ’s dream because he can choose what songs to mix at the club but for those that are looking for growth and something new from Rihanna…this album is not it. There are a few stand out tracks on this album that is worth a listen. The lead single Diamonds is great along with “Stay”, “Loveeeee Song”, and the very catchy “Nobody’s Business” with Chris Brown.

Fake & Hip Hop

With season three fast approaching what are we really getting this time around. A few new characters but nothing can compare to the foolery that we saw on season 2 ATL. This show is really doing nothing but making the women behind the men more famous…and not in a good way. All the fighting, all the backstabbing. I think there are other avenues to get attention besides making yourself look like a complete fool on television. What exactly does this show have to do with hip-hop outside of a few producers and artists who really are not relevant in music today?

Album Review---Tamia Beautiful Surprise

Tamia
Beautiful Surprise

After fifteen plus years in the music industry, I feel this special woman should have much more recognition then she has. Tamia has one of those voices that come once in a lifetime. With her new album, she delivers as usual. Her voice is still flawless and the love she sings about still oozes through. The standout tracks are “Give me you”, “Believe in love”, “Still Love You”, “Beautiful Surprise”.

Go support great music and a spectacular artist.

Album Review--Ne-Yo RED

Ne-Yo
RED

For the last four years, Ne-Yo has been on the straight pop scene. Many people thought this was all he was going to do now. He is on the promo train now and every interview he says he felt he let his fans down on “Libra Scale” which for the most part he did. This album is a throwback to his “Because of You” days but of course, in this day in age he still has some pop-based hits on the album. This time around RED is a more well rounded venture. The standout tracks on the album are “Jealous”, “Let me love you”, “Lets Go”, “Lazy Love” and my personal favorite “Miss Right”.  The crazy thing is there are three different versions of this album. The standard which has 13 tracks, the deluxe that has 18 songs and then a Target version which has 19 songs…come on Ne-Yo really lol.

If you were a fan of Ne-Yo’s first three CD’s you will enjoy this one as well. Go support

Album Review--Miguel Kaleidoscope Dream

Miguel
Kaleidoscope Dream

So he is a little weird, a little feminine, and rocks Anita Bakers hairstyle from the 80’s but when it comes down to it, Miguel’s talent is the truth. His song writing skills are unbelievable and he delivered another great album with Kaleidoscope Dream. To me his music and style is a combination of Maxwell, Prince and the slight sex appeal of Trey Songz. Some of the stand out tracks on his album are “Adorn”, “Use me”, “…All” and my personal favorite “How many drinks”.  What he lacks in vocals he replaces with pure passion and you know every lyric is coming straight from the depths of his soul.

Go pick this up immediately.

Album Review--Brandy Two Eleven

Brandy Two Eleven

It has been a good while since people have been this excited for Brandy Norwood. With her acting career back on track, and the cute duet with R&B friend Monica the world was ready for the next chapter in her musical career. When “Put it Down” ft Chris Brown was released there was a mixed reaction to it. Some people like myself loved it because it was something different. It was something that was catchy and a great way to attract a new audience.  Others wondered why this route? Why make a song that probably would have been a chart topper for someone like Kelly Rowland or Ciara. Either way buzz was built and as long as your name is out there, it’s a good thing. As time has drawn near for this album to be released, more and more songs leaked and I became disturbed. I became disturbed because here you have Put it down giving you this new sassy attitude that had not been seen since the Full Moon album and now I am hearing all these slow tempo songs. Furthermore I hadn’t heard any songs that would be worthy of being a successful follow up single. Now that the album is out my worries are correct. The album itself is a very well put together masterpiece but it’s a very shot list of songs you can send to radio and it would do remarkable. To me the stand out tracks are “Put it down”, “Slower” which was written by Chris Brown,  “Without You” which in my book is the most radio worthy mid tempo song. “Do you know what you have” “Hardly Breathing” and my personal favorite “Music”.

Go out and support this album because it was well worth the wait but the industry will not fully realize it unless you go buy it.

Artist Spotlight Jo Jo

Artist Spotlight  Jo Jo

JoJo is not a new artist by any means. She is known around the industry as a powerhouse vocalist with still so much talent to tap into. In 2004, her debut album was released and at age 13, she was the youngest solo artist to have their album’s first single go number one. Her second album gave us the hit single “Too Little Too Late” and her first mix tape “Can’t take that away from me” was released in 2010. JoJo has a back round in Jazz, R&B, soul and rock. She can sing pretty much anything you put in front of her.

Why record execs want to keep her talent bottled up in just pop is beneath me the change from Blackground to Interscope records looked too had been a great choice for her. As the final changes are being put on her third album she is releasing a mix tape on December 20, 2012 called Agape. She wants to keep the fans entertained and her name and music out there. The album is slated for an April 2013 release.
